How to make MP3s - an ULTRA short tutorial

To show you how simple it is.

How do you make MP3 files? Simple enough!

Step #1 - RIP the music!

Use a CD Ripper for this. To Get a CD Ripper goto Mp3 Software.

Insert a CD in your drive.
Choose a track.
Press start.
Save the file.

Step 2# - EDIT the music!

There can be some trash at the beginning and end of a ripped song. You have to edit it out.

Use a wav editor for this.

Load the WAV.
ZOOM at the beginning.
Highlight the undesired area.
DELETE
Zoom at the end.
Highlight the undesired area.
DELETE
Save the file.

Step 3# - ENCODE the music!

Convert the WAV file into an MPEG layer 3 file and compress it at a 1:12 ratio!

Use MPEG Layer-3 Producer or Mp3 Compressor for this. Goto Mp3 software to get the software for this.

Choose the WAV
Choose 128kbit/s rate
Start
Save the resulting file with the extension MP3.

Step 4# - PLAY the music!

Use WinAMP for this. Goto Mp3 Software to get the latest version.

Uncompressing an MP3 Back to WAV format

If you want to uncompress an MP3 follow these instructions (this only works if you have winamp 1.81 or lower)

There is an option in winamp to convert Mp3's to WAV format it is in the Prefrences under output.
Just change the output device to .wav file output (slient) it wil ask you to select a directory on you hard drive to put the wav and play the mp3 and that is how to convert mp3s into .wav
